Online puzzle of Germany: Trier
Trier is the oldest town of Germany. The Roman Empire subdued the local tribes (the Treveri) in the 1st century BC and established Augusta Treverorum (City of Augustus in the land of the Treveri) in 30 BC. The city later became the capital of the Roman province of Gallia Belgica, as well as the Roman prefecture of Gaul.
