Central Europe travel account summer 2003

On our trip in the summer of 2003 we went to Central Europe. Our main goal was Hungary but during the trip we often changed our plans. Read her about our preparation for this trip.

Poland (day 1 to 4)

Groningen - Wroclaw, a long journey (almost 1000 km) Wroclaw - Krakow, visit to Czestochowa Krakow - Zakopane, the saltmines of Wieliczka Zakopane, and a trip through the neighbourhood

Slovakia (day 5)

Zakopane - Roznava, Slovakian Paradise

Hungary (day 6 to 12)

Roznava - Eger, national parks in norteast Hungary Eger, through the Bukki Nemzeti national park To the capital of Hungary, Budapest Eger - Szeged, to the south of Hungary Szeged - Balatonmeer, a visit to Pecs Veszprem and a quiet day at the campsite Visit to Sopron, near the Austrian border

Croatia (day 13 to 20)

Balatonfüred - Zaton, a beautiful coastal route Zaton, a relaxing day on the beach In the burning heat we visit Zadar Another quiet day at Zaton and a rehearsal concert Plitvicka national park, remainders of the war Sun, sea, beach at Zaton South of Zadar, a region with many abandonned villages With Joško to Zadar

Austria (day 21 to 26)

Zaton - Döllach, through Italy into the Austrian Alps Grossglocknerstrasse, cold but very nice Döllach - Vent, through Italy to west Tirol via the Timmelsjoch Vent - Langenwang, to the Krimmler falls Langenwang - Vienna, a warm day Vienna, visiting the highlights

Czech Republic (day 27 to 32)

Vienna - Puchov (Slovakia), through the Moravian karst Puchov - Prague, visit to a Moravian cave Walking through Prague Another day at Prague Bohemian Paradise, Giant mountains Last day at Prague

Germany (day 33 to 35)

Prague - Zermützel, visit to Dresden Zermützel, with our German friends Zermützel - Groningen, alas, the holiday is over A short retrospection on this holiday
