Cyprus, the most southeastern country in Europe under the coast of Turkey is a divided island. The north is Turkish, the south Greek and that part of the island is member of the European Union as an independent country. Peace talks have been going on for decades and attempts are being made to restore unity, but so far without success. At first the Turks did not want to, but in recent years it is mainly the richer, southern part that seems to be less interested in reunification. Due to its location in the east of the Mediterranean, the island occupies a very strategic place between Europe, the Middle East and Africa. We got to know it as a beautiful island with friendly people, with a lot of nature and also culture. We were there in early spring (February) but especially in the spring and autumn it is a wonderful holiday destination.
Here are our travelogue(s), photographs, online jigsaw puzzles of travel pictures and information about Cyprus.
