Ireland: travelogue December 2002

We had not been to Ireland yet, so this winter we are flying there and rent a car for 10 days. And of course we also go to Northern Ireland, for us that just belongs to the country. We think it is a beautiful, lovely country with a somewhat less rugged nature than Scotland. But what we especially notice are the large new houses that are being built everywhere in the countryside. The economy is certainly doing well.
The journey to Belfast and to Westport
Westport - Kinvarra (through the Connemara)
Kinvarra - Tralee (through The Burren, Cliffs of Moher)
Tralee - Glengarriff (Dingle peninsula, Ring of Kerry)
Glengarriff - Mitchelstown (Beara peninsula)
Mitchelstown - Gorey (Rock of Cashel)
Gorey - Cookstown (Wicklow mountains, Monasterboice, Northern-Ireland)
Cookstown - Cushendall (Giant
Cushendall - Belfast and the journey back home
