After the fall of the Iron Curtain, Poland focused strongly on Western Europe and is now a member of the EU and NATO. Most traces of the communist past have been erased, but much culture has been preserved from earlier history. It is a large country (7.5x the Netherlands) and we have been far too short to see much. Teije was regularly in Poland in the 1980s and was particularly impressed by the sense of freedom, which at the time, despite the communist regime, was very popular among the population. Together we visited Krakow and the Tatra Mountains, places that are definitely worth seeing.
Here are our travelogue(s), photographs, online jigsaw puzzles of travel pictures and information about Poland.
