Puzzle of The Parthenon on the acropolis in Athens

The Parthenon is probably the most famous building in Greece. It was built at the height of the classical Greek time in the 5th century BC. The Partheneon was a temple for the goddess Athens who was the patroness of the city and is close to an older Athena temple. In the 17th century the Turks used it as an ammunition depot and the building was considerably damaged by the Venetians after a direct hit. But it is still an impressive building.
