Monemvasia, Peloponnese

Monemvasia is a city on a rocky peninsula in the southeast of the Peloponnese. It was once part of the mainland, but because of earthquakes in 375 AD. It was separated and it became an island until a bridge was built in the 6th century. From a distance, the rock, which is 1 kilometer long, 300 meters wide and up to 200 meters high, looks pretty impressive.
