Scotland: travelogue September 2016
Just like last year, we are going to Scotland in September and we hope for better weather this time. We take the DFDS ferry from IJmuiden to Newcastle and the journey starts well with 23 degrees but it varies greatly every day. Fortunately it is regularly dry during the day so that we can at least do something. We first spend a week on the east side of the Cairngorm Mountains, a large national park. Unfortunately we lose photos again this year but luckily only from the last few days and we have enough left to show the beautiful things we have seen. We visit a lot of well-known and less well-known castles.
Via Newcastle to the Cairngorm Mountains
Driving around Aboyne
To Braemar castle and touring around
It is castle day: Craigievar and Fraser castle
Even more castles and antiquities
To Ballindalloch castle
The coast at Aberdeen and via Macduff to Beauly
Through the northern Highlands
A few quiet days
To Scotland's secret bunker
Via The Borders back home
