Stirling Castle

Stirling Castle not only lies central in the heart of Scotland, it also guards the place where the Forth river (seperating the south and north of Scotland) can be crossed easily. The castle has been under siege for at least 16 times since the first buildings were build in the 12th century on the volcanic rock, dominating the landscape. We arrived there late in the afternoon and we didn't go inside, that will have to wait for another time.
